The Fragrance Price Index

What perfume actually costs, measured — not guessed. Every figure below is computed from the 10,237 fragrances live in our catalog right now and recalculated daily. Cite it, link it, argue with it: the methodology is at the bottom of the page.

Price per ounce, by concentration

The concentration ladder, measured across 8,284 spray fragrances. Concentration is the single biggest price driver in perfumery: Extrait costs about 2.6× more per ounce than Eau de Toilette.

Extrait / Pure Parfumn = 473 $54.84/oz
Eau de Parfumn = 5,058 $29.75/oz
Eau de Toiletten = 2,229 $20.82/oz
Eau de Colognen = 524 $15.11/oz

The Arabian value gap

Same concentration, very different price. Comparing Eau de Parfum sprays only: the eight major Arabian houses versus the rest of the catalog.

Tester vs boxed: the matched-pair test

We matched every tester listing to the identical boxed bottle — same fragrance, same size — and measured the gap. This is the number a "testers are cheaper" claim should actually cite.

Across 4,278 fragrances in our catalog with a published list price, the average is 18% below list (median 19%), an average saving of $17.42 per bottle. Data recomputed from live prices, last updated August 19, 2026.

Which fragrance concentration gives the most value per ounce?

We matched 445 tester listings to the identical boxed bottle in the same size. Testers average 19.6% cheaper — a typical saving of $14.01 for the same fragrance, minus the retail box.

Methodology

Source: the live MyPerfumes.us catalog (10,237 active fragrances), prices as listed on August 19, 2026; figures recompute automatically every 24 hours.

Price-per-ounce figures include spray fragrances with a parseable bottle size between 0.5 and 10 oz; vials, samples and testers are excluded from concentration and Arabian-gap averages. Tester pairs match a tester listing to a non-tester listing of the same fragrance line and identical size. Discount figures include only products with a published list price above our selling price; gift sets, vials and samples are excluded.

Limitations, stated plainly: this is one retailer's live pricing, not a market-wide survey; list prices are supplier-published MSRPs; per-ounce averages weight each product equally, not by sales volume. Data is offered under CC BY 4.0 — cite "MyPerfumes.us Fragrance Price Index" with a link.
